Biography

Frank Kessler (born December 14, 1961, in Ratingen) is a German actor. Frank Kessler grew up in Berlin-Schöneberg and initially completed an apprenticeship as an electrical machine builder. Alongside various professional occupations, he was successfully active in martial arts for many years. Among other achievements, he competed as a member of the national Taekwondo squad and in the Karate Bundesliga, winning numerous national and international titles between 1980 and 1992. In 2004, he attained the rank of Grandmaster (6th Dan) in Taekwondo and founded the first Berlin Taekwondo Association—now known as the TVBB. He also worked as a coach and examiner. Kessler entered the acting profession through his work as a stuntman. He first attracted attention through the "Black Belt Team," which he had founded. In 1994, he began professional acting training under Teelke Langhanke in Berlin, successfully completing the program in 1997. Since then, Kessler has worked regularly in film, television, theater, and commercials. His credits include roles in *Männerpension*, *Das Leben ist eine Baustelle*, *Cobra 11*, *Tatort*, *Wolffs Revier*, *Dreileben*, *Die Päpstin*, and *Henri 4*. He also appeared in the Karl May Festival productions in Bad Segeberg and in the musical *The Beatles – All You Need Is Love*. He has appeared on screen alongside actors such as Sir Peter Ustinov, John Goodman, Heiner Lauterbach, and Til Schweiger, and has collaborated with directors including Detlef Buck, Wolfgang Becker, Sönke Wortmann, and Dominik Graf. Since 2019, Kessler has played the role of "Specki," a garbage collector, in the television series *Die Drei von der Müllabfuhr*. Frank Kessler lives with his wife, Doreen Kessler, in Rostock, where they jointly run a men's fashion boutique called "Männerherz."
