Biography
Christos Tsagas (Analipsi, Boeotias, 7 September 1939 - Athens, 17 March 2011) was a Greek actor. He was born on 7 September 1939 in Analipsi, Boeotias. He studied acting at the National Theatre School. He had an important career in the life of Greek theatre and collaborated with the greatest Greek actors: Dimitris Horn, Dimitris Papamichael, Dimitris Myrat, Voula Zoumboulaki, Katina Paxinou, Melina Mercouri, Anna Synodinou, etc. He starred in more than 40 plays. He directed over 40 plays and was a co-founder of the "Palkosenikos" and the Knossos Theater, where he staged selected works of the classical repertoire. He starred in 27 films, including Until the Ship by Alexis Damianos, Safe Sex (1999), The Photograph by Nikos Papatakis (1986), The Order by Pavlos Tassios, A Laughing Afternoon (1979), Aliossa (2000), Donoussa (1992), Ephemeral City (2000), The Descent of the Nine (1984), Iphigenia (1977), Red Dragon (1998), The Wall (1977), We Have Arrived! (2004), etc. He was married and had two children, a son and a daughter. He died at his home in Athens, on 17 March 2011 at the age of 71, a few years after the deaths of his wife and daughter. He was buried in his birthplace, Analipsi, Boeotia.
