The Ghostbusters of East Finchley

A young man on a council estate becomes suspicious of his mother's employer and, with help from a friend and an Inland Revenue investigator, starts a tax fraud investigation, using the nickname 'Ghostbusters' ror their undercover work.

Inland Revenue investigator Joe Small has a nose for corruption. He decides to take youngster Jackie under his wing. She in turn persuades her friend Kevin that he should get off the dole and change the world alongside her.

2. Part 2

Kevin's mother Grace cleans for skinhead Thane, in the flat opposite. Not only does he sexually harass her but now he spying on her as she dances for him. Kevin and Jackie open an investigation into Thane but learn he doesn't exist.

3. Part 3

Frankie is livid when Grace gets paid for acting provocatively for Thane. Meanwhile, Kevin and Jackie investigate two cabbie brothers who appear to be living beyond their means. The police are called in after a water leak sets off Grace and Brenda.

Thane brings Grace a maid outfit while Kevin wants her to find what he's building. Kevin starts his work experience at Gleeson's Independant undertaker. Small believes his premise is beyond his budget. Jackie attempts to make Kevin jealous.

Thane threatens Grace when he realises documents are missing—unaware that they were stolen by Kevin and Jackie. Watching a car washing ring, the duo learn that it is part of a massive car insurance scam. Jackie's long-lost father returns.

Kevin, Jackie and Joe find they've trodden on the toes of a undercover investigation. Kevin decides he wants to take down Thane himself.
