But the situation becomes more complicated when Pauline discovers that Jessie’s father has been murdered. As for Jessie, found in a dazed state at the crime scene, she blames herself for the murder... Meanwhile, Daron’s law firm is undergoing further upheaval: at Pauline’s initiative, the firm has moved. Esther is still determined to get rid of Pauline and has filed a lawsuit to have Jean-Michel’s will invalidated. For his part, Daron is worried about Esther marrying Dong So, whom he finds too uptight.

Nadia, the legal assistant at the Daron law firm, has been arrested! While she was volunteering at a refugee shelter, police officers came to take away one of her charges, Yahya, 19, who lives at the shelter with his younger sister, Marjan. Nadia, trying to prevent the arrest, hit a cop! Daron manages to get her released from police custody, but his troubles aren’t over yet: Nadia begs him to help Yahya. The young man is suspected of murdering Irina Rudenko, a young refugee woman who lived in the same shelter as him and with whom he was close... Meanwhile, at the office—still cluttered with moving boxes—Pauline is looking for a file. She eventually stumbles upon an old photo of Daron, Coco, and Jean-Michel at law school... Stunned, Pauline demands an explanation from her mother, but Coco dodges the question, unable to admit to her daughter that Daron is her real father.
