Banned from Broadcast

Banned from Broadcast (known as Hōsō Kinshi or 放送禁止 in Japanese) is a cult-classic Japanese mockumentary and found-footage horror franchise created and directed by Toshikazu Nagae. Each installment is framed as a piece of taboo or suppressed investigative footage that was supposedly banned from public television airwaves.

A film crew speaks to a reclusive college student after the disappearance of his friends, the young man stating they all went missing after the four of them went exploring in an abandoned building, and he fears he's next.

2. Cursed Large Family

The Ura family appears to be plagued by misfortune: one of their sons has died, the father suffered an accident that prevents him from working, and the children mysteriously suffer injuries when left alone with him.

3. Stalker Hell

A young woman named Nozomi has been receiving photos of herself in her mailbox, and a man persistently coming to pound on her apartment door. She suspects it to be her ex-boyfriend, whom she dumped after finding out he was married.

4. Scary Neighbor Trouble

A young family, the Morishitas, are being harassed by their next-door neighbor, an older widow, and fear for their safety.

5. Corpse Island

Air Date: 2006-10-15

Former schoolteacher Shijin has created a small village community for people who struggle with suicidal thoughts so they may heal and find friendship among others like themselves.

6. Death Limit

Air Date: 2008-06-23

A young woman seeks a documentary director's help with her abusive husband, after his previous documentary on bullying raised more awareness for the problem.
