The Crescent City Blues & BBQ Festival, established in 2006, continues New Orleans’ historic role in making the blues and R&B among the most influential sounds in the world. The Crescent City Blues & BBQ Festival presents many of the top performers from southern Louisiana and Mississippi, and is free and open to the public. These visual recordings are produced by New Orleans Jazz and Heritage Station, WWOZ 90.7 FM, a community radio station currently operating out of the French Quarter in New Orleans.

The Origin Story: The festival was established right after Hurricane Katrina to honor Louisiana and Mississippi musicians. The debut lineup heavily prioritized foundational local icons, featuring memorable sets from artists like legendary blues vocalist Big Al Carson. The festival found its permanent home spanning the green spaces of Lafayette Square Park in downtown New Orleans.
